Canada Post has issued an Operations Update as of December 18th 2024
What does this mean?
Beginning, December 19, Canada Post will begin accepting commercial inductions into the network.
Canada Post will resume scheduled pickups and customers will be able to drop off mail and parcels at our plants, depots and commercial deposit centres (CDCs). All new mail and parcels will be processed on a first-in, first-out basis. Customers should expect delivery delays through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025.
What this means for customers
As Canada Post stabilize their operations, here’s an update on what customers can expect in the days ahead:
Parcels
- Beginning Thursday, December 19, parcels can be inducted at Canada Post plants, depots and CDCs.
- Customers may experience lineups and delays at our facilities for the first few days. Therefore, we may not have the ability to complete live offloads. We ask for your patience.
- Customers can also expect delays when waiting to receive empty tractor trailers. For the first few days, equipment availability will be a challenge and we will fulfill on a best-effort basis.
- Scheduled pickups will start on Thursday, December 19, but it will take several days to process items. It’s important to note that there will be delays from the time it is picked up to when processing begins.
- On-demand pickups will not be available until Monday, December 23.
On-time service guarantees
- On-time service guarantees are suspended as we ramp up operations.
- Once the network is stabilized, Canada Post will notify customers when on-time service guarantees are reinstated.
We thank you all for your patience as we restore the Canada Post shipping to our platform and provide additional shipping options.
